Tangerang is a flat, densely populated city in Banten province, directly west of Jakarta. Its northern districts border the Java Sea, giving several spots unobstructed horizon access for both sunrise and sunset.
The 200-hectare reservoir in Cipondoh district has an open eastern shore with few structures blocking the horizon. Access from Jl. KH Hasyim Ashari; the lakeside path is free of charge.
The promenade along the eastern bank of the Cisadane River in the Pasar Lama district faces east over the flat city. Freely accessible on foot from Tangerang's historic Chinatown.
The lake in Periuk district sits in low-lying terrain with an open eastern horizon; a small public park adjoins the southern shore, about 5km northwest of the city center.
Tangerang's main city park near the Civic Center has a central lake and open eastern views; it opens early and entry is free, making it the most accessible sunrise spot in the city.
Located in Teluk Naga district, about 22km north of the city center via Jl. Dadap. The beach faces northwest over the Java Sea and offers a clear, sea-level view of the setting sun.
From the western bank the sun drops over open water with minimal obstruction. About 6km from the city center, reachable by ojek or car.
A working fishing beach in Kosambi, roughly 15km north of central Tangerang near Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The northwest-facing shoreline gives a clean view of the sun descending into Jakarta Bay.
The western bank gives an unobstructed view of the sun dropping below the flat skyline. The water surface reflects the evening light well in the dry season (May to September).
The wide western lawn has few tall trees blocking the view. Walkable from Tangerang train station and the closest spot to the city center on this list.
