Bucharest sits on a flat plain with few natural barriers, giving unobstructed horizon views across much of the city. Large parks, reservoirs, and a few elevated sites make it easy to find open sky at both sunrise and sunset.
The eastern lakeshore faces the sunrise directly over the water. The park is open 24 hours, free of charge; Metro Aviatorilor (M2) is about 10 minutes on foot.
Located in eastern Bucharest, the lake's north bank faces east for unobstructed sunrise views. Tram lines 10 and 21 serve the area; the park opens at 6:00.
The terrace in front of the Patriarchal Cathedral sits roughly 20 meters above the surrounding streets, with a clear eastern horizon over the lower city. Steps lead up from Str. Dealul Mitropoliei; access is free.
The large roundabout on Soseaua Kiseleff sits in an open area; the street axis toward the northeast allows clear views of the rising sun. Best reached on foot from Metro Aviatorilor (M2), about 8 minutes.
The western shore near the rowing club gives open westward views across the lake. Benches line the promenade along this stretch.
The western end of the park opens toward the setting sun over the lake. Metro Titan (M3) is about 5 minutes away.
The largest body of water in Bucharest occupies the western part of the city (Sector 6), with open views toward the setting sun. The perimeter path is free; parking is available on Bd. Constructorilor.
The wide boulevard axis from Piata Unirii to the Palace of Parliament runs east-west, placing the Parliament building directly in the setting sun. The central fountains area is free and gives the best unobstructed angle.
Looking southwest along Calea Dorobantilor, the sun descends toward the horizon. The monument is open for visits for a small fee; the surrounding roundabout is freely accessible.
