1. Lido Beach

   Mogadishu's most popular beach runs 8.7 km along the northern shoreline, facing east-southeast over the Indian Ocean. Free to access; seafood restaurants and small parks line the beach, and taxis from the city centre take around 10 minutes.

2. Shingani Old Town Seafront

   The tip of the Shingani peninsula is the westernmost point of the old city, where the seafront opens to the east over the Indian Ocean. The surrounding coral-stone architecture is walkable from the historic Mogadishu Lighthouse nearby.

3. Hamar Weyne Fish Market Waterfront

   The waterfront of the Hamar Weyne old district faces directly east over the Indian Ocean and is most active during the early morning fish trade. No entrance fee; located in the historic city core, a short walk from Shingani.

4. Jazeera Beach

   About 15 km south of the centre along Airport Road, Jazeera Beach has 1.5 km of east-facing coastline and is noticeably quieter than Lido Beach. A taxi from the centre costs around $5-10; restaurants on site serve international visitors.

1. Shingani Old Town Seafront

   Mogadishu's most-visited park, in the Xamar Weyne area, has an open layout with western exposure and is one of the city's recommended sunset spots. Open daily 7 AM to midnight, free entry; food stalls and seating are available on site.

3. Airport Beach

   The beach adjacent to Aden Adde International Airport faces southwest, making it one of the few spots in Mogadishu where the sun sets over the water. Access via The Palms Hotel; taxi from the city centre takes around 20-30 minutes.
